Immunity boosting balls recipe

Quarantine means lots and lots of baking! Honestly, I’m not such a fan of antibiotics or pills of any kind really. I strongly believe we can prevent and treat many diseases just by eating right; And why not give natural remedies a chance to protect us.. right?!

These zero-sugar lemon and turmeric raw bliss balls taste so good and are such a treat. Turmeric has gained quite a reputation as a super-food. It’s known for its amazing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and hailed as a natural defense against cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. The added lemon compliments these perfectly and is the perfect addition to boost the immune system and encourage healthy digestion. And we can’t get enough lemon and turmeric in our bodies these days for immune boosting.

What you need:

12 pitted dates

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup almonds (soak in warm warer first to soften them up)

1 tablespoon chia seeds

5 tablespoons lemon juice (I use fresh)

1 whole zest of a lemon (I use organic)

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

A pinch or two of black pepper (our bodies can absorb turmeric so much better when combined with a little black pepper

1 teaspoon ground ginger

Blend all ingredients into a blender or food processor. Roll into balls and enjoy! Keep refrigerated and eat within 1-2 days.

I especially like to make these when I feel a cold coming on. A super nutritious yummy treat that your body will actually thank you for! Enjoy xox
